Artist Statement

Most of my inspiration for my work comes from history, classical films, and books. Through observing the art of film and storytelling, I am influenced by scenes and characters from popular culture that aid in my content-making process. Exploration of nature, the human form, and portraiture all take precedence in my artistic process.

With an emphasis on line-making, I create gaunt, dramatized, and androgynous subjects. I add more than meets the eye with the simplest details such as expressions, gestures, or adornment. From fauns and satyrs, to flappers and greasers, my subject matter varies with an ultimate goal to bring the viewer into a different timeframe or world.
